Sherborne International School educates girls and boys aged 8-17 from all over the world, preparing them for the best possible British education. A small school of 150 pupils, we have successfully placed thousands of former students at the UK’s elite boarding schools.
Founded by Sherborne School in 1977, Sherborne International was the UK’s first international study centre. Sherborne School is one of the country’s most
distinguished schools and we have built on their secure foundation, now providing a world-renowned education for international students. With our in-depth understanding of international students’ needs and very small class sizes (5-8 students), we provide a high quality, personalised learning experience, covering academic, linguistic and cultural education.
High numbers of dedicated staff ensure that we are able to care for the individual needs of all students, particularly in the first few weeks when some may feel a little homesick. It also allows us to offer a wide variety of sports, activities and excursions to keep students active and happy. A comprehensive induction programme takes place for all new students and all teachers are qualified to teach English as well as specialist subjects.
There are a number of whole school excursions and trips, supported and supervised by our boarding house staff. These include going to watch local sports teams, ten pin bowling, the cinema or doing some shopping. Excursions to places of local interest such as Bath and Salisbury often take place on Saturdays during the autumn and spring terms.
The School has five halls of accommodation and all international students are guaranteed a place.
Our boarding houses accommodate all our international school students during their studies here. They are conveniently located on campus or within easy walking distance. Surrounded by English countryside, we enjoy a beautiful environment with plenty of fresh air, away from large urban populations.
Larger cities are easy to reach. London is around two hours away by train or car and other beautiful, historic cities like Bath and Exeter are around an hour away. There is easy access to Heathrow, Gatwick and Bristol airports and an excellent direct train service to London Waterloo.
