Overview
Leeds Beckett University is one of the most popular universities in the UK with a history dating back almost 200 years. More than 150 undergraduate and 190 postgraduate courses are offered, as well as foundation and pre-sessional English programmes. The university aims to give students a top-quality learning experience and state-of-the-art facilities are one of the many reasons why more than 24,000 students study at their two Leeds-based campuses.
The University places a strong focus on employability after graduation and all courses include at least two weeks of work-related learning per year. Work placements are encouraged and very popular, with nearly half of all students taking a sandwich course. Leeds' stated aims are to have every graduate enterprising, digitally literate and with a global outlook.
Leeds Beckett University has nine teaching fellows and seven prestigious Higher Education Academy national teacher fellows. Following the most recent National Student Survey, student satisfaction at the school is 85%. In addition, 93.7% of Leeds Beckett graduates are in work or further study six months after graduation.

Services for International Students
Leeds Beckett University provides an English programme for international and EU students. It offers support with Academic English and study skills as well as adaptation to the British university system and general life in Britain and is available for both undergraduate and postgraduate students. ECIS is divided into month-long short courses of two hours per week and includes classes on essay writing, note taking, lectures and general study skills alongside language skills. All students enrolled on the programme can also take part in one-to-one tutorials with a tutor.
A meet and greet service is offered for new international student arrivals at Leeds Bradford Airport and Leeds train station.

The REF 2021 results showed that 53% of the university’s submissions were rated 3* and 4* and therefore considered internationally excellent or world-leading.
Results were particularly strong for Leeds Beckett in sport and exercise science, leisure and tourism where 89% of the submission was rated 4* or 3*. In the allied health and the nursing unit, 80% of the submissions were rated 4* and 3*.
Accommodation
Leeds Beckett University has over 4,500 bedrooms available across a wide range of accommodation blocks. Students have the option of living either in Headingley or the city centre, no more than five miles from the nearest campus. En suite rooms and studio apartments are available. The accommodation office can also help students who wish to rent private accommodation in and around Leeds.

Located in the centre of the United Kingdom, Leeds is one of the best cities in the UK to live and study as an international student and the city is perfectly situated so you can easily travel to other parts of the UK and Europe. Leeds Bradford and Manchester are the closest airports to Leeds Beckett University, with British Airways offering a connecting service between London and the north for international students.
Leeds has the largest finance and legal district in the UK outside of London and with such easy access to the UK capital, many large organisations locate their offices in the city. With plenty of nightspots, bars and cafes, Leeds is a student-friendly city with many events geared towards the 60,000 students that reside in the city.
