In REF 2021, the university was recognised for producing research that brings significant benefits to the economy and society. 88 per cent of its submitted research was rated as having an 'outstanding' or 'very considerable' impact beyond academia. In the 2024 QS rankings for Best Student Cities, Brighton is in the top 100 worldwide and top 15 in the UK.

Accommodation

The University of Brighton has a number of halls of residence located on, or near to, their three campuses across Brighton – City, Moulsecoomb and Falmer. On-site facilities, rent that includes utility bills, and ready-made communities help to make your transition to living in the UK straightforward and sociable.

If you accept your academic offer and book your accommodation by the deadline, you will be guaranteed a place in university accommodation in the first year of your course. This applies to both undergraduate and postgraduate international students. Brighton’s accommodation team can also advise finding a room in private halls of residence or privately rented accommodation.

Location

The University of Brighton has three campuses in Brighton on the southeast coast of England. Surrounded by the beach and the countryside, Brighton is only an hour away from central London by train and less than 30 minutes from Gatwick International Airport.

Brighton is famous for being independent and welcoming to a mix of cultures, nationalities and religions, meaning you’ll be at home no matter what country or background you are from. It’s also a true student city, with 14% of people living here being students.
